Born from the deep recesses of a pink suburban basement, we, Brightnight, have subconsciously found our sound rebelling against small town mentality & embracing our parents' LP collections. Defining ourselves through various genres was hard enough without assuming the role of pretentious indie rock kids, but we finally have reached a point of comfortable obscurity. Drawing inspiration musically from (among a few) 90's Weezer, Cat Stevens, Deftones, Pixies, Pearl Jam, Wilco & Death Cab for Cutie; & living/playing music mimicking the ideals of Wayne Coyne, Beck, Isaac Brock, Eddie Vedder, Jeff Tweedy, Thom Yorke & Dave Matthews; we've had the fortune of finding a unique sound, & a place in our own self-proclaimed genre: 'modern folk rock'. We'd be hard pressed to lie & say that our music is about more than heartbreak & being pissed at normality, but who are we to deny the roots that are at the core of all twenty-somethings, let alone every adult finding themselves in a white-picket-fence crisis.
